In this heart-pounding horror-romance, Regina has spent her life hiding from the monsters that lurk in the dark. Falling for one was never part of the plan.

After her mother’s death, Regina flees the Nigerian village that has kept her trapped within its perimeter for years. But the curse she’s trying to escape follows her into the city. Every night, monsters come closer to finding her—and so does the shadowy presence waiting at the edges of her dreams.

Catharsis is a sleep paralysis demon who has finally found the one human who could make her powerful beyond imagining—and she intends to claim Regina for herself. Instead, she finds herself drawn to Regina’s fury, her loneliness, and the desire neither of them can deny.

As Regina uncovers the truth about her curse and her mother’s death, the creatures hunting her grow bolder. Catharsis may be the only monster strong enough to keep her alive, but Regina has to decide whether she can trust her heart to a demon who wanted her for entirely different reasons.

Dark, sensual, and fiercely romantic, Tender Is the Nightmare is the first book in The Femme Reaper’s Beautiful Monsters, a horror-romance series where women are monstrous—and falling in love with them might be even more dangerous.
